Welcome to Comfort Corner!

Hello everyone.  My name is Jack Carter and I have been a minister of the Gospel for more than 50 years.  I received my calling to Christian service in my teen years and served as a Lay Minister in my local church.  Shortly after marrying my wife (Shirley) of fifty-five years now, I recommitted to that calling and began seeking how God planned to use me.  Soon, I became involved in a Gospel Singing group and hopped that would be where God would use me. I soon accepted that "preaching the gospel" was clearly my calling and later discovered that pastoring was how God planned to fulfill that calling on my life.  I spent more than 45 years in pastoral ministry until retiring in 2013. I feel blessed to have served five congregations with 25 years being dedicated to the now Rivertree Church of God of Prophecy in Owensboro, KY.

Since more than half of our pastoral ministry was in Owensboro and two of our three children now live here, Shirley and I decided to make Owensboro our home. It didn't hurt that four of our five grandchildren live here as well.  Grandparents can understand that I'm sure.

Well! Enough about me.  I want to share a little about the purpose of Comfort Corner. I hope to use this platform to continue fulfilling the calling God gave me fifty years ago. The calling to share the good news of the gospel and help heal the wounds of many wounded and broken hearted. More than ever, I feel the ministry should be more about Hope, rather than Hopelessness, Grace and Mercy over Unforgiveness and Comfort over Callousness.

My hope is that you will join us regularly by clicking on jackscomfortcorner.org. Please share your comments, prayer requests or whatever is on your heart. I plan to post a regular Blog and will have a Sermon Page where I will post messages that I shared with congregations through the years.  Also, occasionally I will minister through song.

Shirley and I look forward to sharing with you here at  Comfort Corner.  I encourage you to join us regularly.  Brother Jack
